Welcome to the Parents of Denholme School (PODS)
We aim to provide you with information about all the activities we undertake in support of Denholme Primary School and its pupils, as well as keeping you up-to-date on our latest news and events.
We have set out some information below about PODS - which we hope will give you a better understanding of who we are and what we aim to do:
Who are we?
PODS is a voluntary group and ALL parents and carers of children attending Denholme Primary School (including the Nursery) are entitled to attend meetings, voice their opinions and make suggestions for improvements, etc.
The main objective of the group is, in partnership with the school, to enhance the education, attendance and well-being of the children who attend Denholme Primary.
PODS plays an extremely important role in the life of the school and assists it in a number of ways:
- Communication with parents
- Links with the wider community
- Recruiting parent volunteers
- Parents sharing good practice
- Knowledge of local funding schemes
The group always welcomes and encourages new members, to ensure there is a breadth of representative opinions from parents/carers of children in all year groups and also to capitalise on the talents, skills and experience of our parents.
Meeting new people and knowing more about what goes on at Denholme Primary School are just some of the benefits you will gain by being involved with PODS.
Our meetings are open to everyone, so why not come along to one and listen to the range of topics being discussed - you can contribute as much or as little as you wish and choose to get involved as much or as little as you wish. The meetings are informal and relaxed. Dates of forthcoming meetings will be published on the website.
If you would like any other information regarding PODS, are interested in joining us or have any suggestions or ideas, please do not hesitate to contact us in the following ways:
