I would like to welcome you on behalf of the children, staff and governors to the website of Denholme Primary School. Hopefully it will provide all the information you need about our welcoming and vibrant school.
Since the 1st of January 2017 Denholme Primary School has been an academy and part of the Bradford Birth to 19 Academy Trust. This is a co-constructed trust with four schools initially: Victoria Primary School and Parkwood Primary School in Keighley and Lapage Primary School in Bradford. The Trust has been formed so that by working in partnership we can improve the educational outcomes for children in all the schools and promote strong links between children and families from different communities and areas of the Bradford district.
The school was last inspected by Ofsted in March 2014 when we secured a 'Good' judgement as we did in 2011. We have not stood still since then but have strived to keep improving. We have introduced the new National Curriculum since March 2014 which expects far more of children at each stage of their education but have done this whilst maintaining a range of exciting and stimulating experiences for the children as part of it. Some of the photographs you will see on this website should give you a flavour of that. We are also proud of the 'inclusive' nature of our school. We have a Designated Specialist Provision for children with autism and the way we try to approach the education of these children benefits all the children in the school. Our pupils are tolerant and understanding of difference and work well together when learning and playing.
If children are to succeed a strong partnership between dads, mums and carers and the school is vital. We encourage and support parents to get involved in their child's education and are always open to suggestions or to discuss any issues as they arise.
